A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State Chief Willie Akinlude has expressed surprise over the ruling of the Supreme Court which sacked the governor of Imo State Emeka Ihedioha.

Reacting to the sack of Ihedioha Akinlude said the sack came as a rude shock to him, just as he expressed confusion in the decision of the Court in declaring Hope Uzodima of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who came fourth in the governorship election as the winner of the poll.

Akinlude said since the Supreme Court is the final arbiter there is nothing his party could do about it, but noted that the ruling of the Apex court falls short of expectations.

He added that, his party would sit down and study the ruling and after that decide the next line of action to take about the ruling.

Akinlude however sounded a note of warning that any attempt by the APC to take over more states of the federation by crude means would fail, reminding the party in power that it should allow the votes of the electorate to count and not to subvert the will of the people.

Speaking on the chances of the PDP on the governorship election that comes up in Edo and Ondo State this year, he said the chances of the party are bright and that Nigerians have understands the opposition party that, it is a party of deceit and of all the promises made to Nigerians during campaign virtually none has been fulfilled.

He explained that Nigerians are now wiser and better informed so they will not fall for any deceit again.

He noted that the chances of the PDP are bright in Edo and Ondo, because the ruling party in those states have let the people down, more so there is confusion and wrangling within the fold of the ruling party (APC) in those states.
